With the 2020 season amongst us, Coach Raichl welcomes Vandal friends, fans, and families!
Greetings Vandal Lacrosse Family!
We are extremely excited to kick off another Spring lacrosse season with an amazing group of young men. This season will begin with a President’s Day weekend road trip to northern California and Nevada. This initial road trip will service this young team well as we play unfamiliar foes in Chico State and Nevada-Reno before we get into conference play in mid-March and April. We will host Montana, PSU, WSU, UW, SFU, and BSU in Moscow, and travel to Caldwell to play C of I, and to Oregon for OSU and UO.
Our team is made up of 18 talented and dedicated young men. With one senior, four Juniors, four Sophomores, and nine Freshmen, we look to build a strong resume this year and return 95% of our team next year! Defensive/Goalie Coach Blake Uphus is headed into his 8th year coaching and 12th year in the program and is excited to mold our young and talented Freshman Goalie Lucas Briner. Coach Raichl is headed into his 4th year as Head Coach and is pleased to see the offense come into their own already this season.
The Vandals have their top two scorers returning, Junior Captains Timmy Berard and Grant Egen. Paired with the freshmen duo of Jack Granger and Devin Latrielle, the Vandals offense looks to make some noise this year. Senior Kade Wagers returns as Face-Off Specialist, while the defense will be anchored by another pair of Juniors, Captain Matthew Boudy and SSDM Brady Govreau. Every single player brings something special to the field and we cannot wait to showcase all of them this season!
Besides having a successful season on the field, our team goal is to raise $20,000. The team began a fundraising campaign last fall that will continue into the spring.
